Lala Cele has been a dedicated Team Member and part of the Hollywood Athletics Club for five years. Her sterling work and dedication over the years has resulted in being awarded for her service to the club. She has been instrumental in the growth of the club, which has seen its membership grow from just 100 members to over 1 000. Her commitment to the club has made her a key member of the Purple Family.
The Hollywood Athletics Club was founded with the aim of getting Team Members to participate in road running, not knowing that the club will grow in popularity and attract members throughout the country. Her knowledge of athletics has been a huge contribution to the success of the Hollywood Athletics Club, in terms of promoting a healthy lifestyle through athletics and road running. Hollywood Athletics Club is known for its inclusive and welcoming environment, which has attracted many members over the years.
Lala has been an active member of the club, since 2018. In her five years with the club, she has worked tirelessly to promote the organisation’s goals and values. Her dedication to the club has been evident in her work as the Hollywood Athletics Club’s Co-Ordinator and runner, mentor, and leader. She has always been available to offer guidance and support to members of the club and her contributions have been invaluable to the organisation’s growth and success.
“’It has been an amazing 5 years at the club, it is easy to do what you love and to be given the freedom to do it, running is my passion and I thank the Cub President and Chairman for the acknowledgement of my service to the club,” said Lala.
One of her most significant contributions to the club has been her work as a Co-ordinator and event organiser. Lala, a passionate long-distance runner who has participated in the Ultimate Human Race, the Comrades Marathon, recently hit her personal best at the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon crossing the finish line in 05:52:16. Such achievements are worth awarding ‘’Lala, has been the mother of this club, her contributions cant not be measured, her dedication and time invested to this club can not be compared and we are honoured to have her and continue the great work ”said Hollywood Athletics Club President Morgan Shandu.
